Holi, the festival of colors , is one of the most vibrant and joyous celebrations in India, bringing people together in a riot of hues, music, and festive cheer. Falling on March 14 this year, Holi marks the arrival of spring and the victory of good over evil. The celebrations begin with Holika Dahan, a ritual that symbolizes burning away negativity and welcoming new beginnings.

The next day, streets across the country transform into a canvas of colors as people joyfully smear gulal on each other, indulge in delicious sweets like gujiya and malpua, and dance to energetic beats. Just like millions across the nation, Jamai No. 1 ’s Abhishek Malik is also excited about celebrating this festival. He talks about his favourite childhood memories and plans of celebrating it this year, here’s what he has to say.

Abhishek Malik who essays the role of Neel in Jamai No. 1 said, “For us, Holi celebrations started a week in advance! My friends and I would gather on our building terraces, filling balloons with colored water and enjoying friendly water fights. On the day of Holi, we would start our morning by seeking blessings from elders and applying gulal on them as a mark of respect. Then, it was all about running around, playing with colors, and dancing to dhol beats. Holi is a festival that brings people closer with its warmth and fun. If I’m not shooting this year, I’ll celebrate with my friends in Mumbai, who have become my extended family. May this Holi bring love, happiness, and positivity into everyone’s lives.”

Abhishek Malik is known for his roles in popular shows like Bhagyalaxmi, Kumkum Bhagya , and Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan. With his charming screen presence and strong performances, he has built a solid fan following. Abhishek has also participated in reality shows and worked as a model before entering the television industry.
