After the arrival of UPI in India, it has become easy for the common people to send payment. Also, a large amount of money is also paid very quickly. But the more facility UPI provides, the greater the fear. Because if there is a single digital change in the account number, then the money is also transferred to the wrong account. Do not worry about this, in fact the bank tries his best to resolve such cases with RBI soon. So know, what steps can you take if you have made wrong UPI payment.
According to the bank's rules, if paid through the wrong UPI, then inform the bank within 3 days of payment. Also, check the email and message received after the payment, which contains information about the amount deducted from the bank. If there is an incorrect payment, immediately call the customer service of that bank and give them full report.
After informing the customer service, the money usually returns to the account within 48 hours. If not, you can go to the bank and make a written complaint. In which you will have to give your complete information like transaction ID, amount being sent, account details. Written complaints can also be made from RBI.
If you are not satisfied with the bank's action, then you can file a complaint with NPCI. This entire process will be online. You have to go to the NPCI website and follow some stages there, where your name, number, address, the bank from which you are doing UPI, will be sought information like name, account number, amount to be sent etc. – After giving all the information, submit the form. After this, the NPCI will investigate the complaint sent by you and take further action. Whose mail you will get.
