Actually, Kalmegh is a perennial plant. Its scientific name is Andographic Paniculata. This plant is a native of India and Sri Lanka. It is widely found in North India and West Bengal. It is said that Kalmegh is not less than any other herb, as this plant is considered to be effective in creating colds, fever and increasing immunity of the body. It is considered beneficial in treating many stomach related diseases.

diabetes:
A decoction made of Kalmegh leaves is also considered useful in controlling blood sugar. It is said that consuming it increases the amount of insulin in the body and also helps in weight loss.

skin problems:
Kalmegh plant is no less than a boon in the treatment of pimples and skin diseases (ringworm, itching). Water of Kalmegh leaves relieves problems like skin irritation, dryness and itching.

 

Digestive system:
Kalmegh plant can also help relieve stomach related problems (acidity, indigestion, constipation).

There has also been a lot of research on Kalmegh plant. Its beneficial properties are described in various researches. Scientists at Indira Gandhi Agricultural University had told about the research done on Kalmegh in 2015 that it is very useful in treating stomach diseases, sugar and other diseases including blood pressure.
