The new iOS 18.3 update is important for iPhone users and Apple is letting them know
Apple has introduced a new iOS 18.3.2 update for iPhone users this week which is an important release for its devices. The company issues these mid-month updates to fix major security issues and the iOS 18.3.2 is another iteration of its focus on keeping its users safe. The Apple release clearly states the new update does not pack any new fancy features or AI tools but is equally important for millions of iPhone users across the globe.
The new iOS 18.3.2 update is available for all iPhone users with model XS and later. “This update provides important bug fixes, security updates, and addresses an issue that may prevent playback of some streaming content,” Apple’s release note says about the new update issued this week.
Usually the company does not share the full details about the issue which is fixed with the update but this time around things are different. “Maliciously crafted web content may be able to break out of Web Content sandbox. This is a supplementary fix for an attack that was blocked in iOS 17.2. (Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been exploited in an extremely sophisticated attack against specific targeted individuals on versions of iOS before iOS 17.2.),” Apple highlights in its security support page for the new version.
The company has also pointed out that it usually does not share or confirm the security issues for the protection of its customers, and only reveal the details once it is fixed with a patch or update.
While Apple fixes the major issues, it is equally busy in making sure that iOS 18.4 version is made available in the coming weeks. The iOS 18.4 beta 3 update is out this week, which teases new features for iPhone users who will get them with the full release in April.
The company is also going to have a busy 12 months as it continues to tackle the challenges facing the AI evolution of Siri. This new avatar was part of the iPhone 16 launch event and some of the recent ads but the feature is unlikely to be available even when the iPhone 17 series is announced later this year.
