Mustard procurement process starts

हरियाणा में सरसों की सरकारी खरीद शुरू: जानें क्या हैं नए नियम और समर्थन मूल्य

The Haryana government has started the process of government procurement of mustard for the benefit of farmers from Saturday, March 15. This year, Ballabhgarh Grain Market has been made the only government procurement center in the district, where the produce of farmers will be purchased at a support price. With this step, farmers are expected to get a fair price for their crop.

Mustard support price

This year the government has fixed the support price of mustard (Minimum Support Price) Rs 5950 per quintal. This time it has been increased by Rs 300 per quintal as compared to the previous year. In 2023, this price was Rs 5650 per quintal. This decision will provide relief to the farmers, because despite the increase in the cost of mustard, they will get a better price.

Mustard cultivation area

This year, mustard cultivation in the district has been done in 1101 acres of land. This time farmers have sown mustard in more fields than last year. With the expectation of good yield, farmers are likely to get more profits this time.

Government procurement goal

The government has set a target of 12000 quintals of government procurement of mustard this year. Hafed agency has been authorized to successfully complete this process. Last year, the government agency bought 8000 quintals of mustard, while private traders purchased about 15000 quintals of mustard.

Preparations for Ballabhgarh Mandi

Ballabhgarh Market Committee Secretary Indrapal Singh said that all preparations for government procurement of mustard in Mandi have been completed. He has requested the farmers to bring their crops well and clean them to the market, so that there is no problem in shopping.

Transparency and payment process

The administration has made all necessary preparations to make the government procurement process of mustard transparent and convenient for farmers. The crop purchased at the support price will be paid directly in the bank accounts of the farmers, so that they will not have to get into the circle of brokers.

Competition in market

This time both farmers and traders are keen on mustard market price compared to last year. Last year, private traders bought mustard up to Rs 6000 per quintal, which was more than the government support price. Now it has to be seen what kind of expressions are seen in the market this time.

Documents required for purchase

Farmers will need some necessary documents for government procurement of mustard, including:

  1. Aadhar card – Identification as proof
  2. Copy of measles/Jamabandi – To confirm land ownership
  3. Copy of bank passbook – Payment directly for transfer to bank
  4. Crop registration certificate – Which proves that the farmer has grown the crop
