Amritsar: Unidentified assailants reportedly hurled an explosive object, suspected to a grenade, at a Hindu temple in Punjab’s Amritsar on Saturday. The incident took place in the Khandawala area of the city.
Two attackers arrived on a motorcycle and threw the explosive object inside the temple, reported The Times of India. They were also reportedly carrying a flag. A loud noise was heard by the locals after the object exploded.

The explosion occurred at around 12:30 am on Saturday. After receiving the information, senior police officials reached the spot. There are no reports of any casualties or injuries due to the explosion.
The extend of collateral damage is yet to be ascertained.
A detailed investigation has been launched.
