Woman 'punched and thrown down flight of stairs' in bar as police issue CCTV appeal

A woman was at a bar, with police issuing a picture appeal to find her attackers.

The woman was attacked at Missing Bar, on Bromsgrove Street, Gay Village, with police now probing what happened. issued a picture of two men they want to speak with in connection with the incident.

Police have carried out inquiries and have since made an appeal for information. The attack happened in the early hours of Sunday, December 1, last year, reported.

In a statement, police said: "We’d like to speak to these men after a woman was hurt during disorder at a bar in Birmingham city centre. The woman was punched and thrown down a flight of stairs at Missing Bar on Bromsgrove Street in the early hours of Sunday 1 December.

"We’ve been carrying out a number of enquiries and are now asking for your help. Anyone with information should contact us via Live Chat on our website or by calling 101 quoting 20/988456/24."

Police inquiries continue. The has contacted West Midlands Police for comment.

There are other instances of people being attacked in nightclubs across the country. In April last year, an "unpleasant and unprovoked" attack led to a man's ear being bitten. The victim was left in agony and bleeding profusely following the surprise attack.

CCTV footage from inside the club, recovered by , shows a man that the force are interested in speaking with. They believe he could have important information about what happened.

Police Constable Ashley Clare, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "This was an unpleasant and unprovoked attack on a victim who was on a night out. We are determined to track down the person responsible and believe the man pictured could help with our investigation.

“If you know him please get in touch with police. Likewise, if you were at the venue that night and have any information about what happened, please contact an officer.”
