The Tilak Nagar police arrested a man and detained four juveniles for allegedly pelting stones at a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) shakha in Dombivli's Khambalpada area two weeks ago. The incident occurred during an evening training session attended by children, prompting the RSS to demand strict action.

The police stated that they arrested one person, while four juveniles were detained in the matter. The four juveniles were presented before the Juvenile Justice Board in Bhiwandi and were sent to an observation home, while the adult suspect was produced in court and is now in jail custody. The cause of the stone-pelting incident is yet to be ascertained.

According to the police, the incident occurred in the Khambalpada area of Dombivli in the evening when children from the RSS were receiving training. Suddenly, some unknown individuals pelted stones at the shakha from nearby locations.

Police sources said that the children informed their seniors associated with the RSS about the incident. Subsequently, the RSS members demanded that the police department take stringent action against the accused. An FIR was then filed against unknown persons under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Atul Zende, DCP of the Kalyan Division, said, "Based on the CCTV footage installed nearby, we identified the suspects, detained, and arrested them. We are investigating whether anyone provoked them to commit the act or what the motive behind it was. So far, the reason for the incident remains unknown. However, further investigation is ongoing."

The police added that following the incident, heavy security was deployed in the area to prevent any untoward incidents. Despite the  incident, the shakha continued to function in the open ground where the training was being conducted.
