Busenaz Surmeneli wins gold at Women’s World Boxing Championship

Busenaz Surmeneli won the gold medal in the 66 kg category at the Women’s World Boxing Championship held in Serbia. The championship’s final match took place at the Cair Sports Center in Nis, where the top seed Busenaz faced Navbakhor Khamidova from Uzbekistan.

Busenaz dominated the match, winning all three rounds decisively with a 5-0 victory to claim the world title.

3rd consecutive World Championship Title

With this victory, Busenaz Surmeneli secured her third consecutive world championship title. After winning gold in 2019 and 2022, she repeated her success in 2025.

The 26-year-old boxer, who also won a gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, has a strong track record with additional gold medals at the European Championships, European Games, and Mediterranean Games.
