Many many not know that Ashok Kumar was originally a lab technician. His real name is Kumudlal Kunjilal Ganguly. He used to work as a technician in Bombay Talkies in those days. But one day his luck changed so much that this film changed everything. Himansu Rai the owner of Bombay Talkies decided to make him a hero. His decision was successful. Later Ashok Kumar made many big hits in Hindi cinema through his films. Kismet was also a big experiment for Hindi cinema. It was a drama film in which a pickpocket (Ashok Kumar) helps an innocent girl and her family. Where a virgin girl becomes pregnant. The film introduced the concept of anti-hero for the first time which later became the foundation of Amitabh Bachchans angry young man image.
