It is not easy to forget Julie film. The blockbuster movie of 1975 is still in the minds of people after fifty years. The love story that enhances heartbeat, music, caste and wall-breaking young couple, heroine wearing fashionable dress, English-speaking modern environment of Anglo Indian community- The film had everything in the film, on which the audience of that era became completely fed. As if the magic was played. Many film lovers from then say- Julie became intoxicated on the hearts of people. Wherever you were seen singing songs of-people singing Julie… Julie, I Love You… or Julie's dialogue would have been speaking. Julie imprint fashion products started selling in the market. There were many people who pulled Julie not one but many times. She proved to be a Cult Movie. At the box office, Julie's magic spoke with his head. Julie started getting into dreams, settled in memories and made a place in book-copies.

Julie's love story on screen scattered the intoxication, such a film could not be made again. Such heroine (Lakshmi) of South Indian films who did not know at all, and with Lakshmi as a romantic hero- Vikram, who was less familiar with people, but both of them set fire on the screen. KS Sethumadhavan, director of South Indian films, presented him in such a way that people forgot to Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia's Bobby. Like Bobby, these songs written by Anand Bakshi also achieved the status of alltime hit. Lata Mangeshkar and Kishore Kumar's voice- what to do when someone falls in love with someone, these nights are new, forgotten everything, do not remember anything now, or in the voice of Preity Sagar- My Heart Is Beating… In the music of Rajesh Roshan, these songs made a splash.

Julie's Anglo Indian

The major reason for Julie being a blockbuster was not only her modern dress or her Anglo Indian. Julie was a film to engrave the alleged duality between the two communities and the miscreants. There was a Hindu community, whose parents are- Mr. Bhattacharya i.e. Utpal Dutt and his wife Devaki Bhattacharya i.e. Achala Sachdev. The second community was- Anglo Indian, whose guardians are- Moris i.e. Om Prakash and his wife Margaret Maggi i.e. Nadira. Both families are shown in their respective stereotypes. Mr. Bhattacharya is an officer in Railways, while drinking alcohol, Morris driver. The women of both the families living nearby, ie Devaki and Margaret, consider each other's culture to be untouchable for themselves. Anglo Indian Family cake is forbidden in a Hindu family. There is a possibility that if eggs are found in it, then incense sticks that are lit in the worship houses of the Hindu family are forbidden to be installed in the house of Anglo Indian, it is argued that it spreads smoke in the house. Instead, the candle asks for burning. Similarly, there are differences about Tulsi Puja.

Julie's marriage to be a mother

In this thinking environment, the elder daughter of Margaret, Julie i.e. Lakshmi and Devaki's son Shashi, Vikram, gradually grows. The unique thing is that Julie and Shashi are not sure in the religious beliefs of their families. They respect each other's culture and custom. Whenever Julie comes to Shashi's house, the scent of incense sticks attracts her heart. Similarly, Shashi likes the cake of Julie's house. The love in both of them increases so much that Julie rejects the love of Richard (Jalal Aga), a young man of her own community. But Julie's mother on one side and Shashi's mother on the other side did not accept this relationship. Whereas Julie becomes pregnant with Shashi without getting married. After this, Julie's mother is shown like a staunch Anglo Indian, which is approved to put Julie's child in the Yatimkhana but not accept Shashi.

Julie's baby's blood color

However, men and other members of these two families in the film are generous of very progressive mood. Julie has become a mother without marriage. Julie's mother makes full effort to keep this distinction hidden, but its distinction finally is revealed. Shashi's sister daughter Usha (Rita Bhaduri) is her special friend. With his help, Julie's child is taken out of the Yatimkhana and then Utpal Dutt, the head of the Bhattacharya family, adopts Julie as a daughter -in -law and child as a grandson. Utpal Dutt says- Your religion is different, our religion is different, but what is the religion of this child. Is this child's blood color different from both of us? After this, Julie's mother, who is planning to leave India and go abroad, withdraw the step from the initiative of the Bhattacharya family. In this way, the stereotypes that were preventing two communities from meeting are abolished.

Anglo Indian country also sarcastically

An attempt has also been made to remove many more misconceptions in this film. Generally, Anglo Indian family's living, rituals and dress dress have been a strange type of curiosity among people of other communities. In the film, Julie has always been shown in short skirt and modern dress. Due to which he had to face bad nebies in many places in the film. While shopping at shops or at the time of asking for jobs in private companies. Every time when he said 'no', the question was raised in front of him that despite being so fashionable, so old thinking? Then Julie says- Dress does not tell the thinking of man. In the film, Julie's mother repeatedly talks about going to Britain and says- she is our real country. But her husband Morris says- No, where we were born, that is, this India is our real country. We will stay here and die here.

Filming of love stories changed

After Bobby and Julie, many films came in Hindi, which had a profound influence on them. These films changed the style of filming of love stories on the silver screen. The list of such films is long. In the latter, the impact of these films can be seen on all films with love stories. For example, for a couple of Kamal Haasan and Rati Agnihotri, Kumar Gaurav and Vijayta Pandit's love story, Mithun-Padmini's love not bowed, Aamir-Juhi's doom to doom to doom and Salman-Bhagyashree's love, etc.

Julie was Sridevi's first film

When this film was made or after many years, people kept ignoring the fact that Julie is Sridevi's first film. Sridevi became the younger sister of the main heroine Lakshmi in the film. His character is named- Irin. When Sridevi died, this film began to be remembered as the first film of her career. Sridevi does not have a big role in this film. He is a small member of the Margaret family. She appears in many scenes. Especially on the Mai Heart Is Beating song, he can be seen dancing with family members. Later, Sridevi's innocence, which is called the superstar, is seen.
