The current market cap of Zomato stands at Rs 1.85 lakh crore as on March 18. Notably Zomato was among the major gainers in the share market with stock price closing to Rs 204.28 up 1.41 percent (Rs 2.85) from the previous close.
The petition states that the food delivery ordered several orders in 2023. The company alleges that the food delivery company delayed payments and refused to accept deliveries citing storage issues. Zomato even used threats and warnings to pressure the company for discounts.
Zomato has rejected the allegations stating that Nona Lifestyle repeatedly did not adhere to the established delivery timelines which led to penalties being enforced according to their contract. Zomato further noted that Nona Lifestyle independently altered delivery schedules contributing to the campaigns unsuccessful outcome. The insolvency petition was presented for a hearing in October 2024 but was dismissed for lack of prosecution in November 2024. Following this a request was submitted to reinstate the insolvency petition.
