AIMPLB Demonstrates at Jantar Mantar

Wakf Amendment Bill Sparks Controversy - In New Delhi, Asaduddin Owaisi, the leader of AIMIM, criticized the Wakf Amendment Bill, labeling it a catalyst for chaos disguised as legislation. He argued that the bill threatens the security and transparency of Wakf properties, suggesting it is a scheme to seize these assets. Owaisi urged the government to halt its actions and withdraw the bill. In response, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) organized a protest at Jantar Mantar against the Wakf (Amendment) Bill 2024.

Bill Deemed Unconstitutional

Reports indicate that various Muslim organizations, including the AIMPLB, have taken to the streets to oppose the Wakf Bill. The AIMPLB asserts that the amendment contradicts India's secular democratic principles and violates fundamental rights outlined in Articles 12 to 35 of the Constitution. They argue that it disregards the sentiments of over 25 crore minority citizens, declaring their complete rejection of the bill and demanding its immediate withdrawal.

BJP Denies Allegations

In response to the protests against the Wakf (Amendment) Bill 2024, BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh dismissed the accusations, suggesting that some individuals are acting as puppets for land mafias. He urged these organizations to prioritize the welfare of the poor and Muslims instead of showcasing their ties to land grabbers. Chugh encouraged them to remove their biases.

During the demonstration at Jantar Mantar, Hindu activist Sachin Sirohi from Meerut expressed that the country should adhere to the Constitution, questioning the opposition's motives. He urged them to listen to the government's perspective and expressed hope that PM Modi and UP CM Yogi Adityanath would implement the law.
