Mahabharata Story: According to Vishnudharmottar Purana, after the Mahabharata war, due to Yudhishthira's request and Lord Krishna's illusion, all the warriors were revived for one night. At that time, the eyes of all the Pandavas and Kauravas were filled with tears. Both were crying while hugging each other.

Dead Warriors of Mahabharata War Alive for One Night: The war of Mahabharata is such an event in the history of mankind, which has never happened before and will never happen again. In this war, countless warriors attained martyrdom. Kings from different parts of the country participated in this war for the establishment of religion. The Kaurava army was destroyed in the war that lasted for 18 days in the field of Kurukshetra, while the Pandavas also suffered heavy losses. According to Vishnudharmottar Purana, after the war ended, all the dead warriors were revived for one night. The touching atmosphere of that time was enough to melt everyone's heart. Let us understand this interesting story in detail.

Yudhishthira was saddened by the death of his relatives

According to the Yajanashree Twitter handle, the 18-day long Mahabharata war was over and the bodies of the dead warriors were scattered all around the Kurukshetra. When Yudhishthira became the king after the war was over, he was filled with remorse inside. He was very sad that he had got this throne after the murder of his relatives. Due to this remorse, he decided to perform a special tarpan (pind daan) for the peace of the souls of his ancestors and the slain warriors.

For this task, they went to the holy banks of Ganga and started performing Yagya and Tarpan ritually. At the same time, the sages and Brahmins told them that all the warriors killed in the war have gone to heaven or Pitriloka, but they wish to meet their relatives for the last time. Yudhishthira and his brothers heard this and sought guidance from Lord Krishna. Shri Krishna said that this is possible but for this they will have to pray to Mother Ganga. After this, the Pandavas worshipped Mother Ganga.

Tears were flowing from everyone's eyes

By the grace of Maa Ganga and the divine power of Shri Krishna, the Kurukshetra suddenly came alive as night fell. All the warriors killed in the war were revived for one night. Bhishma Pitamah, Dronacharya, Karna, Duryodhana, Jayadratha, Abhimanyu, Shalya, Shakuni, and thousands of other warriors came back to their original form. Their bodies were again filled with divine radiance, as if they were before the war.

This scene of the reunion of the Pandavas and the slain warriors was extremely heart touching. There were tears in everyone's eyes. Be it the Pandavas or the Kauravas, everyone was crying while hugging each other. No one had a feeling of revenge but love and forgiveness. Bhishma Pitamah blessed the remorseful Yudhishthira and said that he had done nothing wrong. The decision he had taken was absolutely right for the protection of Dharma.

Duryodhan hugged Bhima and said in a choked voice

Karna spoke lovingly to Arjuna and Kunti. Kunti apologized to her elder son Karna and expressed her maternal love for him. Karna also showed affection and said that it was all a game of destiny. Abhimanyu met his father Arjuna and mother Subhadra, which made both of them very happy. Both of them cried for a long time after hugging their son.

Guru Dronacharya hugged Ashwatthama and advised him to follow the right path. Duryodhan's eyes were also filled with tears. Hugging Bhima, Duryodhan said that he had committed unforgivable mistakes, due to which lakhs of people had to lose their lives. He has now given up all enmity with Bhima and now wants to go to the feet of the Lord with a calm mind. Jayadratha, Shalya, Bhagadatta and other warriors met their families.

One night and then goodbye

This reunion lasted only for one night. As soon as the first ray of the sun fell on the earth, all the warriors transformed into a divine light and went towards heaven. Seeing this scene, all the people present there started crying bitterly. However, Lord Krishna was calm. He knew that this was destiny, which was bound to happen. With a heavy burden on their hearts, the Pandavas performed Pinddaan and grand Yagya for the peace of the souls of their ancestors and warriors killed in the war on the advice of Lord Krishna. But the burden of guilt was so heavy on all the Pandavas that after ruling for a few years, they lost interest in the kingdom and giving the throne to their grandson, all the Pandavas left for the Himalayas to repent. Where everyone died one by one.
