Samsung’s Android 15 update has been delayed for a long time
Samsung Android 15 Update has been officially confirmed and now we know when the One UI 7 update will be coming to its existing Galaxy phones and tablet this year. The Android 15-based One UI 7 version was introduced with the Galaxy S25 series earlier this year, and after a long delay, the company seems finally ready to release the Android update for its older Galaxy devices.
As you might know, the Galaxy S25 launch event in January was the official announcement of the One UI 7 version based on Android 15 but the older Galaxy phones have been waiting for the new update which has been stuck in the beta tests for a while.
Samsung has confirmed the release date of April 7, 2025 for the Android 15 update that will be available to a range of premium Galaxy phones, foldables and tablets. The company has not shared the exact timelines for all the devices but we finally know which of the Samsung products will be getting a taste of the Android 15 version next month.
– Galaxy S24 series – S24, S24 Plus, S24 Ultra
– Galaxy S24 FE
– Galaxy S23 series – S23, S23 Plus, S23 Ultra
– Galaxy S23 FE
– Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6
– Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip5
– Galaxy Tab S10, S10 Plus and S10 Ultra
– Galaxy Tab S9, S9 Plus, S9 Ultra
The list here primarily includes the higher end Galaxy S-series phones, tablets and the foldable series. The company has a slew of mid-range Galaxy F, M and A-series phones that are not mentioned in the timelines, which effectively means their Android 15 update will take longer to reach the devices.
These timelines clearly show the challenges faced by Samsung with the new version, which is claimed to be its biggest overhaul in years. We are hoping these timelines match up with the Android 15 release for Samsung users in India as well. Some of these users might get a taste of Android 15 in May, and by that time Google might even roll out the Android 16 update for the public.
