Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, is now going to emerge as a new hub of drone technology in the country. The MP government has taken a big step regarding the widespread use and training of drone technology in the state.
Now the country's first such School of Excellence will be established in IISER Bhopal, where not only training will be given to fly drones, but education will be given till their designing, manufacturing, and technical development.
The objective of the government is that this school will not only give new employment opportunities to the youth but also make the state self-reliant in the field of drone technology. For this, IISER Bhopal will also get support from big technical institutions like IIT Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Indore. This initiative will be monitored by the state's Department of Science and Technology itself.
Students of polytechnic and engineering colleges will be specially included in this school. The course will include drone component manufacturing, data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), based drone software, drone assembly, repairing and maintenance, flight simulator training, autonomous drone operations, and use of drones in survey, mapping, and agriculture.
Students will not only be taught in the classroom but will also be given practical training. Not only this, the center will focus on every aspect from the software to the hardware of the drone.
If reports are to be believed, this school will also prove to be important for social welfare. Special training will also be given to make drone technology useful in areas like agriculture, health, disaster management, and security. The government aims to make Madhya Pradesh the leading state in drone manufacturing and operation in the country.
This ambitious project is going to start from this year. This school will be fully operational by the end of 2025.
