How is this scam?
Messages are sent to people to donate to people in the name of Iftar food, orphan aid or medical help.
On clicking on the link, the user is taken to the fake website, which looks like a real NGO.
The amount donated does not go to the real charity, but to the account of the scammers.
How to avoid
✅ Always check the charity from the official website.
✅ Verify details before donating from UPI, bank transfer or digital wallet.
✅ Avoid donating from social media posts or universified links.

2, Crypto Givaave Scams: Free greed, big disadvantage!
With the increasing popularity of cryptocurrency in India, scammers are running fake Crypto Givaave in the name of Ramadan. These schemes promise to give free bitcoin, atherium or Islamic-themes tokens, but actually vacate people's crypto wallets.

How is this scam?
Fake advertisements are posted on Twitter, Telegram and Instagram.
Users are asked to connect their crypto wallet to get reward.
As soon as they do transactions authentication, their wallet becomes completely empty.
How to avoid
✅ Never connect your crypto wallet to the universe website.
✅ Be cautious with anything that looks “very good offer”.
✅ Use cold wallets to keep your crypto currency safe.

3 3 Fake Ramadan Sales and Festive Discounts: Avoid the pretense of heavy discounts!
E-commerce scammers claim to give huge discounts on clothes, perfume and home decor by creating fake websites. But in fact, these websites disappear after taking money only.

How is this scam?
A discounts of up to 70-80% are shown on Google, Facebook and Instagram.
Customers pay from UPI, credit card or net banking, but they never get the product.
Some scams banks steal details and do more frauds.
How to avoid
✅ Always shop from Amazon, Flipkart or official brand website itself.
✅ Avoid suspicious advertisements and unknown websites.
✅ Where possible, choose the option of “cash on delivery”.

4, social media fishing and fake givawe: Do not trust blue tick!
Scams run fake zakat or Ramadan givaave by hacking verified social media accounts. They win people's trust by using blue tick and AI-birthted witnesses and then cheat them.

Users are asked to participate in Ramadan Contest through DM or post.
They are asked to fill personal information or bank details.
Sometimes it is said to make “small payments” to get a reward, after which identity is stolen or financial fraud.
How to avoid
✅ Confirm the source before participating in Givaave.
✅ Do not share bank details, OTP or personal information with unknown accounts.
✅ Report the fake page on the cybercrime portal (cybercrime.gov.in).

If you suspect any online fraud or you fall prey to it, then take immediate action:

Report to CERT-in (Indian Computer Emergency Response Team).
