Ex-Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has reaffirmed his fondness for Spurs and his desire to take the reins again at the north London club in the future, highlighting his "very good relationship" with chairman Daniel Levy. The Argentine, who now leads the United States men's national team, was dismissed from Tottenham in November 2019 after an impressive five-and-a-half-year tenure. During his time at the club he secured four consecutive top-four Premier League finishes, launched title bids in 2015-16 and 2016-17, and led the team to the 2019 Champions League final.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Pochettino said: "When I left the club I remember one interview I said I would like one day to come back to Tottenham and that is of course... I am now in the USA I am not going to say no, I'm not going to talk about that. What I said still after six or five years, I still feel in my heart that, yes, I would like one day to come back."

Meanwhile, Tottenham, currently managed by Ange Postecoglou, are experiencing a tumultuous season, having been knocked out of both domestic cup competitions and sitting uncomfortably at 14th in the league standings, with just 34 points from 29 matches.

They still chase glory in the Europa League, gearing up for a critical quarter-final bout with Eintracht Frankfurt next month. Postecoglou is at risk of losing his job if the north Londoners crash out of the competition.

Reflecting on his relationship with Daniel Levy, Pochettino shared: "Talking about two different sides, professional and personal. I've seen always the appreciation in between both, it always was there and is going to be there, the thing to take professional decisions.

"It's true after nearly six years with all that we lived together was tough because I think too many up and downs and emotional things that we lived.

"One thing was professional, another personal and now, like the day after we left Tottenham, we keep always a very good relationship."
