If you have important banking work, plan accordingly! Banks in Jharkhand will remain closed for four consecutive days from March 22 to March 25, 2025. The closure includes a nationwide strike and scheduled bank holidays.

Why Are Banks Closed for 4 Days?

United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has called for a nationwide bank strike from March 23 midnight to March 25 midnight. This will impact banking services across the state, causing delays in transactions, cash withdrawals, and other services.

Why Are Bank Employees on Strike?

The strike is backed by nine major bank unions, representing over 8 lakh employees from public, private, foreign, cooperative, and regional rural banks.

🔹 Demand for a 5-day work week (similar to RBI and insurance companies).
🔹 Increased recruitment in banks to handle growing workloads.
🔹 Ban on outsourcing of banking jobs to private agencies.
🔹 Regularization of temporary employees in banking services.
🔹 Pension revisions & uniform dearness allowance for retired employees.

What Will Be Affected During the Strike?

Bank Branch Services – Deposits, withdrawals, and cheque clearances will be impacted.
Loan Approvals & Document Processing – Applications will face delays.
Bank Staff Availability – Limited support for account-related queries.

What Should Customers Do?

Withdraw Cash in Advance – Avoid last-minute ATM rush.
Complete Important Transactions Before March 22 – Bank branches will resume normal operations from March 26, 2025.
Use Digital Payment Methods – UPI, net banking, and credit/debit cards will function as usual.
