Sunita was born on September 19, 1965, in Euclid, Ohio to Dr. Deepak and Bonnie Pandya. She has done her high school studies in Massachusetts. She graduated in Physics from the United States Naval Academy in 1987. In 1995, she got a master's degree in Engineering Management of Science from the Florida Institute of Technology.

Beginning of career in space

Sunita Williams' first space journey took place on 9 December 2006. This mission lasted for a year. According to NASA, Sunita made a world record for women by doing four spacewalks totaling 29 hours and 17 minutes. Sunita's second space mission started on 14 July 2012. Indian-origin Sunita Williams will return to Earth on 19 March at 3.27 am after a long wait of 9 months. SpaceX's spacecraft Dragon will bring Sunita to Earth.
