In a gruesome crime, a woman, along with her lover, murdered her husband in a chilling manner. She dismembered his body, sealed the remains in a drum filled with cement, and then left for a vacation in Shimla. The crime came to light 14 days after her return, leading to her and her lover’s arrest.
The police, acting on a tip-off, recovered the drum from the house. Even after using a drill machine, they couldn’t extract the body. Eventually, the drum had to be cut open at the postmortem facility.
The victim, Saurabh Kumar, was the son of Munna Lal, a retired Indian Oil Company employee. Saurabh, who worked in the Merchant Navy, fell in love with Muskan Rastogi in 2015, and despite opposition from both families, they got married in 2016.
Initially, Munna Lal allowed the couple to stay in his house. However, when Saurabh left his job for Muskan, family disputes arose, leading to their eviction. The couple then moved into a rented house, and in 2019, they welcomed a daughter, Pihu. In 2023, Saurabh took a job as a salesman in London.
While Saurabh was in London, Muskan got involved with Shahil Shukla, a resident of Indiranagar. When Saurabh returned home on February 26, 2024, to celebrate his daughter's birthday on February 28, he soon discovered Muskan’s affair with Shahil. Their relationship turned bitter.
On March 4, Muskan and Shahil executed their plan, killing Saurabh inside the house. They cut his body into pieces, stored them in a drum, and filled it with cement to conceal the crime. After securing the remains, they went on a trip to Shimla.
Despite the murder, the couple faced a major problem—they couldn’t access the ₹6 lakh in Saurabh’s bank account. Desperate for money, Muskan visited her maternal home in Gauripura and confided in her mother, Kavita Rastogi, about the crime.
Shocked by her daughter's confession, Kavita decided to alert the police. She went to the Brahmpuri police station and reported the entire incident. Acting swiftly, the police arrested Muskan and Shahil. Based on their confession, they recovered the drum containing Saurabh’s remains.
This brutal crime, driven by an extramarital affair and financial greed, stands as a shocking reminder of how deception and betrayal can lead to horrifying consequences.
