CBSE Class 10th, 12th Scholarships: CBSE i.e. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a national-level education board of India. This board is for public and private schools. It is managed by the Government of India. CBSE Board focuses on the overall personality and development of students along with studies. Not only this, this board also gives many scholarships to provide financial assistance to the students enrolled in its affiliated schools. This scholarship is especially for students appearing for board exams.
Scholarships offered by CBSE Board
Single Girl Child Scholarship
Eligibility: To get the Single Girl Child Scholarship, the girl student should be a student of class 11th or 12th of any school recognized by CBSE. She has to score 70 percent or more marks in the CBSE class 10th examination. Students whose families have a gross income of up to Rs 8 lakh per annum can apply for the scholarship. Apart from this, the monthly tuition fee in class 10th should not exceed Rs 1,500, while in classes 11th and 12th there should not be an increase of more than 10 percent. Students applying for this scholarship can apply by visiting the official website of CBSE, cbse.gov.in.
Award: After being selected for the Single Girl Child Scholarship, the selected students will receive Rs 500 per month.
Boards Merit Scholarship (BMS)
Eligibility: This scholarship is for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students. The student must have passed the class 10th or 12th examination from CBSE and secured at least 85 percent marks in the CBSE board examination.
Award: The board provides an amount of Rs 12,000 per year to the students of classes 10th and 12th.
Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students
Apart from scholarships for class 10th and 12th students, CBSE also assists students who are about to be admission to college. The Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students (CFS) is given to those students who have scored above 80 percent marks in the class 12th examinations of their respective boards. Such a student should belong to a family with an annual income of less than Rs 5 lakh, and be enrolled in regular programs (not correspondence or distance courses). Also, he should not be getting the benefit of any other scholarship or fee. Please note that diploma students are not eligible for this scholarship.
Award: CBSE provides financial assistance of Rs 12,000 per year to the selected students under the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships for College and University Students for the first three years. After this, the scholarship amount is increased for the fourth and fifth year and they are given Rs 20,000 per year.
