Lucknow: Recent changes in the rules of wheat sales in Uttar Pradesh will give great relief to the farmers of the state. The registration process for selling wheat has now been made more simple and convenient than ever. Under these changes, farmers will now be able to register by entering their Aadhaar number, and they will not need to visit the tehsil if there is verification from the accountant level.
Easy change in registration process
Compared to earlier, the registration process has been made extremely simpler. Now farmers will only enter their Aadhaar number, which will make their identity verified. Earlier, farmers had to face server problems during registration several times. The OTP process has also been changed, which will prove to be extremely beneficial for the farmers. The OTP problem often stuck the registration of farmers, but now this process has been abolished.
Verification facility at accountant level
Earlier, during registration, farmers had to go through the process of verification from Tehsil and SDM, which was a waste of time and energy. But now verification has been arranged at the Lekhpal level. Due to this, farmers will not have to visit the tehsil, and they will be verified from the gram panchayat level itself. For this, ID of Lekhpal will be made, so that the farmers will be able to verify at the gram panchayat level easily. This step will prove to be very convenient for the farmers and will make their hard work meaningful.
Rabi marketing year 2025-26

Although the procurement process could not start in the first 15 days, it is expected by the department that the purchase process will increase in the next few days. So far, 3432 farmers have registered for sale, and these farmers will get full benefit of new rules.
Steps taken in the interest of farmers
The purpose of these changes is to give maximum relief to the farmers. Keeping in mind the delay and inconvenience in registration and verification as before, this time all processes have been simplified and intensified. Also, farmers will also get relief from visiting the tehsil, which was a big mess earlier. Apart from this, registration has been provided to the farmers who have earlier sold wheat, paddy, or other grains through the Aadhaar number.
