Anil Kapoor shared his excitement writing And the stars have finally descended on Earth! Earlier Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed Sunita Williams and her fellow astronauts after their extended space expedition aboard the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft. In a post on X (formerly Twitter) he wrote Welcome back Crew-9! The Earth missed you. Your journey has been a test of grit courage and the boundless human spirit. Sunita Williams and her team have shown us what true perseverance means. He also praised the teams who worked behind the scenes to ensure their safe return saying They have shown what happens when precision meets passion and technology meets tenacity. Sunita Williams and three other NASA Crew-9 astronauts- Nick Hague Butch Wilmore and Russian cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov -returned to Earth after over nine months in space. Their SpaceX Dragon capsule safely splashed down in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Florida. As per CNN reports the astronauts were carried out of the capsule on stretchers a standard procedure for those returning from long-duration space missions. While Nick Hague and Aleksandr Gorbunov had been in space since September 2024 Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams had been away even longer -their mission started in June. Originally their trip was supposed to last only a week but due to technical issues with their Boeing Starliner capsule their return was delayed extending their mission to over nine months. Despite the challenges they have now safely returned and their resilience continues to inspire millions worldwide.
