Rajkot: The Aji Dam police booked a man working with a catering service for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl in Vadali village near the city on March 15.
​On March 15, she went to school for an exam but did not return home. Her family informed the police as they failed to locate her.

Later, her parents learned that she was communicating with a man from Vadali. The next day, the girl returned home and, upon being questioned, revealed that the man took her from Aji Dam crossroads to a garden and then to his village where he sexually assaulted her.

The girl was also working part-time with the catering service provider where she met the accused.
​They exchanged phone numbers and began communicating through social media.

The complaint was lodged by the girl's 48-year-old father, who works as a painter in the city.

The accused was booked under relevant sections of BNS and the Pocso Act.
