Abu Dhabi: A new exchange of war prisoners between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Ukraine has been successfully mediated by the United Arab Emirates. The exchange involved 175 Ukrainian and 175 Russian prisoners, totaling 350 prisoners, increasing the total number of prisoners exchanged through UAE mediation efforts to 3,233.

The Russian Federation and the Republic of Ukraine were thanked by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) for their assistance in the UAE’s mediation efforts. The UAE’s participation in supporting all attempts to settle the conflict between the two countries is something that both countries appreciate.

The ministry emphasized that the 13th mediation’s success is a testament to the unique relationship between the UAE and the two nations.

The ministry also restated the UAE’s determination to see through all initiatives to resolve the Ukrainian conflict peacefully and lessen the crisis’s humanitarian effects, especially those on refugees and hostages.
