ITV presenter shared some breaking news on on Thursday. The 57-year-old newsreader shared an update for any customers of Yorkshire Water, as she confirmed that regulator Ofwat had stepped in to deal with failings by the company.
Speaking into th camera, Kate explained: "Some breaking news for you now. The water regulator has announced that is to pay a £40m enforcement package after it found failings in how the company maintained it's sewage network. Most of the money will be put towards work on the company's most problematic storm overflows to ensure that they spill less than 20 times a year.
"Ofwat say the costs will be paid by Yorkshire Water and its shareholders, and not passed on to customers."
