Shivamogga: In a tragic incident, a man lost his life due to asphyxiation while attempting to rescue a cow that had fallen into a well in Karakodlu near Konanduru.

The deceased has been identified as Satheesh (45) from Kerala. A resident named Raghu had recently constructed the ring well. On Tuesday a cow accidentally fell into it. Satheesh entered the well to rescue the animal but suffocated to death.

On Wednesday, firefighters retrieved both Satheesh’s body and the cow’s carcass. After a post-mortem examination at the Konanduru Primary Health Center, his body was sent to Kerala for final rites.
