IMD has issued a warning of thunderstorms with lightning, which are very likely to occur at one or two places in state on Friday and Monday. On Saturday and Sunday, thunderstorms with lightningwill be accompanied by gusty winds with speeds reaching 40-50kmph in some places.

On Thursday, many places recorded temperatures more than one degree above normal. Palakkad recorded the highest temperature of 37.9 degrees, followed by 37 degrees in Vellanikara. Punalur, Kannur Airport, Kozhikode and Cial Kochi recorded temperatures exceeding 35 degrees. Kerala state disaster management authority (KSDMA) issued a heat warning for state on Thursday.In the last 24 hours, a high UV index was recorded in all districts in the state.
