Over 34,000 Seats Reserved in Private Schools

The admission process for private schools under Haryana's Chirag Scheme has commenced. This initiative allows students from classes 5 to 12 to benefit, rather than just those in class 3 as previously. Detailed information regarding available seats for each class is accessible on the department's official website and portal. Interested applicants can submit their applications until March 31.

Lottery System for Over-Subscribed Seats

In cases where the number of applications exceeds the available seats in a school, a lottery system will be implemented between April 1 and April 5. This process will occur in the presence of parents, who will be informed in advance about the date and time of the draw. Following this, private schools must complete the admission process by April 15, and the list of successful candidates will be displayed on the school's notice board.

Mandatory Reporting of Admission Details

Schools are required to upload complete details of admitted students on the departmental portal between April 1 and April 30. If selected students do not enroll within the stipulated time, their seats will be allocated to students on the waiting list, who can enroll from April 16 to April 30.

Eligibility Criteria for Admissions

  • Only children from economically weaker sections (EWS) whose parents have an annual income of ₹1.80 lakh or less are eligible for this scheme, verified through the family identity card.
