Employees coming under NPS can now take advantage of UPS. All the employees who work in the Central Government on or after 1 April 2025. All of them will come under UPS. The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority has issued rules to implement the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS). Let us tell you that these rules will come into effect from April 1, 2025. The UPS scheme is for all those central employees. Who come under the National Pension System (NPS). Talking about this scheme, 50% of the average salary of the last 12 months of the central employees will be given as pension. Which will be ensured after 25 years of service. Apart from this, there is also a guarantee of minimum pension of Rs 10,000 per month, which will be available after 10 years of service.

Who has to fill which form?

Different forms have been made to apply in Unified Pension Scheme i.e. UPS. If someone is still doing a government job. Then he has to fill A2 form for this. If someone has recently joined the government job. So he has to fill A1 form. On the other hand, if a government employee has retired. So there is B2 form for that. And if any pensioner employee has died. So his wife will have to fill B6 form for the application.

How to apply for this?

All central employees can download the letter for UPS scheme online from 1 April 2025 on Protean CRA's website https://npscra.nsdl.co.in. If any employee wants, he can also fill the form himself and submit it. Any employee who wants to take advantage under the Unified Pension Scheme. He will have to apply within 3 months from 1 April 2025.

Those who join a new job will have to tell within 30 days whether they want to take advantage of UPS or not. For offline application, all employees can submit the form through the head office of their department or the Drawing and Disbursing Officer (DDO).
