Full list of major food recalls at stores including Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, and Waitrose

Products ranging from breakfast cereal and sweet treats to pickles have been in recent weeks. Notices issued by the Food Standards Agency warned of problems including contamination with glass or insects and undeclared ingredients that could trigger allergies.

They include granola which may have an "insect infestation", plastic in lasagne and an allergy warning on pistachio bars. It's important shoppers who have bought the recalled products return them to stores immediately.

Here is a list of recent major recalls:

Rude Health Chocolate Crunch Granola

The due to "possible insect infestation" which may make it unsafe to eat. Insect contamination of food can occur through various pests such as cockroaches, beetles, moths and flies.

Risks of consuming insects include food poisoning, and the spread of diseases. Sold by retailers including Tesco, Ocado and Amazon. The affected batch has a best before date of October 24, 2025 and the code PD24102024.

Iceland Vegetable Lasagnes

over fears they contain hard pieces of plastic. The affected 400g packs were sold in Iceland with best-before dates of July 23, 2026 and July 30, 2026.

A notice warned that the plastic shards may make the meals "unsafe to eat". Although plastic is typically used to package ready meals, some types contain chemicals that can contaminate food when heated.

Essential Waitrose & Partners Seafood Sticks

due to carrying the wrong best before date code. This may mean the product is unsafe to eat after the correct best before date of October 5 2024.

The affected 250g packets, which carry a best before date of October 5, contain 16 individually wrapped texture white fish protein sticks. Eating out-of-date seafood and trigger food poisoning, with varying symptoms depending on the toxins involved.

Lokumella Mini Pistachio Bars

sold in TK Maxx and Homesense stores between January and March have been recalled over fears they contain undeclared milk. The product could therefore trigger allergies in people who are sensitive to milk.

Around 2-7% of babies are thought to suffer from allergies to cow's milk, although most outgrow it during childhood. The reaction occurs when the immune system mistakenly identifies proteins found in cow's milk as a threat.

Kelly Loves Sushi Ginger

have been recalled due to possible risk of glass shards. Pickled ginger is often served with sushi as a palate cleanser, helping to refresh your taste buds between pieces to appreciate all the unique flavours.

Glass shards or splinters can sometimes contaminate food during the production, packing or handling processes.

Nestlé Frosted Shreddies

Breakfast products made by Cereal Partners UK and Ireland were recalled last month because they "may contain small hard lumps of sugar". A notice warned that the lumps may present a choking hazard.

The popular products is sold at many stores including Sainsbury's, Asda, Waitrose and Tesco. Affected products were a 500g box with the best before date July 2025 and batch codes 42850952, 42860952, 42870952, 42880952, 42890952, 42900952.

A number of 40g boxes sold in cereal selection packs with best before dates of June and July 2025 were also recalled.

Baxter's Sliced Gherkins Crunchy & Sweet

Jars of gherkins have been recalled over the possible presence of mustard not mentioned on the label, which could pose a risk to anyone who is allergic. The recall applies to 540g packs with the best before date June 2026 and batch codes 2400059, 2400060, 2400061 and 2400062.

Others with the best before date July 2026 and code 2400063 were also affected. The pickles are sold at stores including Tesco, Sainsbury's and Morrisons.

Caramelized Biscuit Ice Cream and Biscoff Ice Cream

Ice cream has been recalled because it may contain hazelnuts not mentioned on the label, posing a risk to people with nut allergies. Tree nut allergies affect around 2% of children and 0.5% of adults in the UK.

Cheshire Farm recalled a batch of 1L Caramelized Biscuit Ice Cream with the best before date November 29, 2025 and code L24150. Two batches of 1L Biscoff Ice Cream with best before dates November 19, 2024 and March 18, 2025 and codes L23139 and L23261 were also affected.
