Fans of new crime drama were left stunned after discovering the secret connection between Brad Pitt, and the critically acclaimed show. The four-part series, directed by Philip Barantini, debuted on the streaming platform last week and has quickly become a major talking point. The four-part Netflix drama, which premiered on March 13, focuses on schoolboy Jamie (Owen Cooper), who is arrested for murdering his female classmate, Katie.

It follows the aftermath of the crime, with Stephen taking on the role of the boy's dad, Eddie Miller, Christine Tremarco taking on the role of his mum and Ashley Walters playing Detective Inspector Luke Bascombe, overseeing the investigation. The series has been praised for among young boys.

While the plot has captivated audiences, some viewers were more focused on an unexpected detail - Hollywood star Brad Pitt being listed as an executive producer. Viewers took to social media to express their surprise, with one user writing on X (formerly Twitter): "Brad Pitt producing Adolescence is crazy, what?"

Another person added: "Seeing Brad Pitt's executive producer credit on Adolescence threw me off." Pitt's involvement comes through his production company, Plan B Entertainment, which co-produced the series alongside Warp Films and Matriarch Productions.

While the actor didn't appear on screen, his role as an executive producer means he contributed to the show's development and production.

Director Philip Barantini confirmed Pitt's involvement, telling Radio Times: "Brad was on the phone with us, and he was so enthusiastic." This isn't the first time Barantini has worked with Plan B Entertainment, which has also produced major films like Troy, The Departed, and the upcoming Mickey 17.
