Islamabad: Model and actress Nazish Jahangir has issued a warning to individuals spreading false information about her, threatening legal action if the misinformation continues. In an Instagram story, Nazish Jahangir posted a statement, calling it a notice, and declared that she wanted to warn everyone through it.
She stated that social media pages, individuals, and organizations spreading misinformation about her must delete all posts within 24 hours and issue an apology.
Nazish further warned that if the posts are not removed within 24 hours and an apology is not made, she would take legal action against the responsible individuals and social media pages.
She emphasized that she will initiate defamation lawsuits against all those involved. Nazish Jahangir also cautioned that failure to comply with her notice will result in legal action under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA).
She made it clear that if the spread of false information about her does not stop, she will file defamation cases and take all necessary legal actions. However, Nazish did not specify what kind of false information was being circulated about her or who was responsible for spreading it.
Additionally, she did not mention the non-bailable arrest warrant issued against her. Before Nazish posted about misinformation, reports surfaced stating that a court in Lahore had issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against her, ordering law enforcement to arrest and present her in court.
According to Dawn News, a judicial magistrate at Lahore’s Katcheri Court ordered that Nazish Jahangir be arrested and presented before the court on March 22 in connection with a fraud case.
She is accused of defrauding an emerging actor, Aswad Haroon, by taking money and a car from him without returning them. Previously, in September 2024, the Lahore Sessions Court had canceled her bail in the same case.
Earlier this month, in an interview with Nida Yasir, Nazish spoke about the fraud case, claiming that she was being targeted with false allegations as part of a propaganda campaign to blackmail her.
