Bruno Guimaraes is one of many players being linked with a move to Arsenal in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Last summer, due to a clause in his contract, he was available for £100million but no club activated that option. Instead, he remained at St James' Park with full focus on winning trophies and getting back into the Champions League.
One part of that has already been achieved with the Magpies beating Liverpool in last Sunday's Carabao Cup final. Eddie Howe's side are also on track to return to Europe's elite competition as they sit sixth in the Premier League table with it likely the top five all qualify.

Keeping this squad together will be the aim for Howe, but there are several clubs circling round some of his key players. Alongside Guimaraes,
Mikel Arteta is on the hunt for a new striker and central midfielder but it is difficult to foresee the north Londoners poaching both of Newcastle's star players without paying a huge premium. Alternatively in attack, RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko is of interest while Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad is another option in the engine room.
Incoming sporting director Andrea Berta is likely in the process of finalising plans and despite some reports, it looks as though Guimaraes is not in them. According to , Arsenal are currently not looking at bringing the Brazil international in and it is also unlikely he leaves Newcastle.
That update certainly suggests that Zubimendi is the absolute priority to help replace both Jorginho and Thomas Partey. The Spaniard has a £51.3million (€60m) release clause in his contract though the Gunners could opt to pay Sociedad a higher fee but using instalments.
