Chaitra Navratri 2025:  As soon as the colors of Holi are over, the enthusiasm of holy festivals like Basanti Navratri, Chaiti Chhath and Ram Navami has started awakening in the minds of devotees. Preparations for these festivals have started and everyone is ready to immerse themselves in the color of devotion. Let us know in detail about these special festivals, what is going to be special this time.

Auspicious beginning of Chaitra Navratri

This year Chaiti Navratri is starting from March 30, when the process of worshiping Maa Durga will begin with Kalash Sthapana in the morning. Astrologer PK Yug tells that this time Navratri is starting in the auspicious combination of Revati Nakshatra and Indra Yoga.

The special thing is that in the Navratri starting on Sunday, Maa Durga will arrive on an elephant, which is considered very auspicious. However, this time Navratri will be of eight days instead of nine days.

On 6th April, Ashtami and Navami are falling together, and on this day too, the departure of the mother will be on an elephant. According to the astrologer, the arrival and departure of the mother on an elephant indicates prosperity, progress and happiness.

Auspicious time for Kalash installation

The time of Kalash Sthapana is very important in Chaiti Navratri. This time, this auspicious time will be from 6:12 am to 10:22 am on March 30. At the same time, Abhijeet Muhurta for worship will be from 12:01 pm to 12:50 pm.

On the day of Mahanavami on April 6, devotees will observe fast in Punarvasu and Pushya Nakshatra. Punarvasu Nakshatra will remain till 9:40 am, after which Pushya Nakshatra will start.

The four Navratris and their significance

There is mention of four Navratris in the scriptures, which are celebrated from Shukla Pratipada to Navami of Chaitra, Ashadha, Ashwin and Magh months. Out of these, the Navratri of Ashadha and Magh are called Gupta Navratri.

The Navratri of Chaitra month is known as Basanti Navratri and the Navratri of Ashwin month is known as Sharadiya Navratri. Every Navratri has its own special significance, which brings blessings of the Mother Goddess to the devotees.

Chaiti Chhath Puja is related to folk faith

The festival of Chaiti Chhath, which will start from 1st April, will last for four days. This is a great festival of folk faith, in which the devotees worship the Sun God. The resolution will be taken with Nahai-Khai on the first day. On 2nd April, the 36-hour Nirjala fast will begin by offering Arghya to the moon on the day of Kharna.

This puja will be completed by offering prayers to the setting sun on April 3 and to the rising sun on April 4. This difficult fast is a symbol of faith and restraint.
