Scam is happening by asking to talk on call

If we look at the past few days, people are being cheated in different ways. In which people are being trapped and duped of lakhs and crores of rupees. These days a new scam has come to light. In which the scam is being carried out by engaging people on call. This scam is also being called call merging scam. In this scam, the scammer calls you and takes the name of someone you know.

And he tells you that the person has asked to talk to you. And asks you to get some work done. Meanwhile, another call starts coming on your phone. And that person says that it is the call of the same person. Who gave your number to that scammer. And he asks you to pick up the call and merge it to talk to him. As soon as you pick up the call and merge it, money disappears from your account.

How is this scam happening?

Actually when you are talking to the scammer on call, the second call that comes at that time is not from any person. Rather it is a call for your OTP. Let us tell you that there are two options for OTP. One is a text message and the other is a call. An automated voice generated OTP is heard on the call. Which you also hear. And the scammer also hears it. By the time you are able to understand anything, the scammer enters your OTP and empties your account.

What to do to avoid it?

On such occasions, only wisdom saves you from such scams. Whenever you get such a call, never merge it with any third call. As soon as someone asks you to merge the call, disconnect the call immediately and complain about the call from that number to cyber crime.
