, famously known as The Governess on 's hit show , recently made a candid confession about the unexpected perks of celebrity life. In a moment of raw honesty, Hegerty shared an eye-opening story about how fame expedited the recovery of her lost car, revealing the VIP treatment that often comes along once you're in the public eye. "My agent put out a tweet saying 'can you believe the RAC have lost the Governesses car?' and within about half an hour there was a very scared RAC guy direct messaging me saying, 'terribly sorry can you give us some more information' and my car was soon located," Hegerty recounted.

"And I just imagine if I hadn't been famous, if I hadn't got that much attention from the tweet I might have had to wait an awfully long time. I'm not dissing the RAC they were very, very busy at the time, but you get all sorts of privileges from being famous," she said in a video posted on Reddit by MMCltalks.

The quiz show star, 66, who first graced our screens as the initial female quizzer on The Chase in 2010, also opened up about the freebies that now come her way, a stark contrast to her earlier, less affluent days.

"I've gone into pubs and wanted drinks and been told it's on the house. And I'm like alright but I'm probably the richest person in here let me pay for it," she shared. "But yes, it's nice you get freebies.

When I was poor and needed it I didn't get any and now I'm rich and famous and I get free stuff. It's brilliant. It's wrong and unfair but brilliant."

Beyond the glitz of television fame, Hegerty has also been very open about her personal challenges and triumphs.

Diagnosed with autism at the age of 45 after recognising traits in herself on a television programme about the condition, she has since been a vocal advocate for awareness and understanding of autism and Asperger syndrome.

Anne's love life has also been the subject of much speculation, but she remains happily single.

During her appearance on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in 2018, she set the record straight about a peculiar rumor.

"It still claims I'm married to someone called Jake Hester! I seriously don't know who he is," she declared humorously.

As for the romantic offers that come her way, Hegerty is flattered but clear about her priorities.

"Let's say I would not be short of offers if I went looking," she told The Sun. "But I am happy with my own company, I've had relationships go wrong precisely because I could not devote the mental energy to it, and I just thought 'No, no, no, this is not a good idea'."

She concluded: "I find men make such great friends - so let's keep them like that."
