Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s head coach, Andy Flower, believes his team is prepared to take on KKR spinners Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine. On March 22, RCB will play KKR in the first IPL 2025 match in Kolkata.
In order to give the opposition a hard time and halt their run flow, the defending champions would rely heavily on their spinners. Flower said before to the start of the competition that Chakaravarthy and Narine may be difficult to deal with and that the hitters would be put to the test when they faced the top bowlers in the world.
“Chakravarthy is playing incredibly well, and we have known Narine for a long time. One of the most thrilling and fulfilling aspects of playing international cricket, or IPL cricket, is testing yourself against the best in the world. The standard is very similar to international cricket, and all the excitement and energy that comes with playing top-class cricket in India also comes with that, Andy Flower told reporters at the pre-match press conference.
With 21 and 17 wickets, respectively, Chakravarthy and Narine were instrumental in KKR’s third-place victory last year. They will both try to replicate their exploits in the 2025 Indian Premier League. Meanwhile, Rajat Patidar, who will be leading the Bengaluru-based club from the front this season, will usher in a new era for the team.
Rajat looks forward to the challenge: A flower
Speaking about his role as captain, Flower said he is excited for all the difficulties Rajat will encounter and the support he will get from his teammates.
In our hiring process, we were careful to include an experienced side, and they would be able to provide Rajat with a great deal of help. We’re fully behind him, and I believe he is thrilled about this task,” he said in closing.
The Bengaluru-based team would want to start the season on a good note after missing out on winning the coveted trophy for the last 17 years. It would be intriguing to see how Rajat Patidar altered this franchise’s trajectory.
