Lucknow Encounter: On Friday, March 21, a guy with a criminal history who was suspected of trying to rape a lady in Lucknow before murdering her was shot and killed during a confrontation with police.
The 32-year-old woman’s corpse was discovered abandoned in a mango orchard in Malihabad on Wednesday, and it was the result of a shocking murder and suspected rape bid committed by Ajay and his brother Dinesh. Ajay, the primary suspect, was shot dead by the Lucknow Police on Friday night with a Rs 1 lakh reward. Earlier in the day, his brother Dinesh of Dubagga was also taken into custody.
“On March 18, at about 1:30 am, the lady traveled from Varanasi to Lucknow. After that, she contacted her brother in Alambagh to let him know she would be arriving at his house in the Chinhat region. She and both of the accused were riding on a three-wheeler. But when her brother attempted to call her home, her phone was turned off,” DCP (Lucknow West) Vishwajit Shrivastava said, as reported by PTI.
After informing UP 112, an inquiry was ultimately started.
The police said that since the lady did not know the roads in Lucknow, the two led her in the incorrect way toward Malihabad, where they attempted to impose themselves on her in a mango grove.
According to Shrivastava, when she struggled, the two killed her by strangulation and placed her corpse in the orchard before running away. As many police teams worked on the investigation, Dinesh, who resides in the Dubagga neighborhood, was apprehended in the morning with the use of electronic monitoring. In the evening, Ajay was also located in Mahmood Nagar.
“In an attempt to flee, he opened fire on the police squad, inciting a reaction that resulted in his injuries and subsequent detention. He was brought to a hospital, where medical professionals pronounced him dead,” the DCP informed reporters.
He said that the Lucknow Police had offered a Rs 1 lakh reward for his apprehension. The matter is still pending more court processes.
