The IPL 2025 is scheduled to begin on Saturday with a match featuring the reigning champions Kolkata Knight Riders against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Eden Gardens. However there is a significant risk of the match being completely canceled due to adverse weather conditions as the weather department has issued an Orange Alert. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted thunderstorms and rainfall in South Bengal from Thursday through Sunday. An Orange Alert has been issued for the opening day of IPL 2025 March 22 while a Yellow Alert is in effect for Sunday.
