Many schemes are being run for daughters in Rajasthan, the most special of which is 'Lado Protsahan Yojana'. Under this scheme, the amount given on the birth of a daughter has now been increased to Rs 1.5 lakh, which was earlier Rs 1 lakh. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma had announced this increase on Women's Day.
The government will issue guidelines in April for how to get the benefit of this scheme, who will be eligible, and what will be the application process. Only after this will daughters start getting its benefits. Earlier this scheme was known as 'Rajshree Yojana', which was changed to 'Lado Protsahan Yojana' in December. Earlier 50 thousand rupees were given in it, but now it has been increased to Rs 1.5 lakh. Under the scheme, a total of Rs 1.5 lakh will be given in 7 installments from the birth of the daughter till the age of 21 years.
Who will get the benefit?
People of all castes and religions will get the benefit of this scheme, and there is no restriction on income limit in it. Every daughter born in Rajasthan will be eligible under this scheme, provided the girl is a native of Rajasthan and the child is born in a government medical institution or a private hospital approved by the Janani Suraksha Yojana. No application will be required for this scheme. The data of girls born in a government medical institution or approved private hospital will be automatically uploaded on the portal of the concerned departments, so that the beneficiaries can directly get the benefit of the scheme.
Money will be given in 7 installments.
Under the Lado Protsahan Yojana, a total of Rs 1.5 lakh will be transferred directly to the bank account through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) in 7 installments from the birth of the daughter to the age of 21 years.
1) The first 6 installments will be sent to the bank account of the parents or guardians.
2) The 7th and final installment will be transferred to the girl's bank account.
Details of the distribution of money
1) On birth – Rs 5,000
2) On completion of 1 year of age and vaccination – Rs 5,000
3) On admission in first class – Rs 10,000
4) On admission in sixth class – Rs 15,000
5) On admission in 10th class – Rs 20,000
6) On admission in 12th class – Rs 25,000
7) On completion of graduation and on attaining the age of 21 years – Rs 70,000
A total of Rs 1.5 lakh will be provided in 7 phases.
Registration process
Under the Laado Protsahan Yojana, the details of pregnant women will be registered on the portal of the medical department.
The following documents will be taken during the ANC (Antenatal Care) check-up of the pregnant woman:
1) Certificate of domicile of Rajasthan
2) Marriage registration certificate
3) Bank account details
4) All documents will be checked by the Medical, Health and Family Welfare Department and the details will be entered on the PCTS (Pregnancy, Child Tracking System) portal.
5) Women registered in Rajshri Yojana will also be eligible under this scheme, they will not need to register afresh.
So far, 1.77 lakh daughters have been given the benefit of the first installment of the scheme.
