According to the authorities, the integrated terminal building’s construction is finished.

Bihar’s Muzaffarpur Railway Station is being renovated.

Tasks finished:

* Consolidated Terminal Building (B)

* Departure Terminal Building Foundation * Civil Engineering Department Block * Booking & Enquiry Office

The following are ongoing projects: * FOB * Elevated Road * Multi-Level Parking

1300 railway stations will be renovated by the railways.

In the meanwhile, the Modi administration unveiled a bold plan to renovate nearly 1300 of the nation’s train stations. When Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the cornerstone for the renovation of 553 railway stations in February 2024, the massive project received an additional push.

Scheme for Amrit Bharat Stations

The Amrit Bharat Statue on Scheme is a deliberate attempt by the Indian Railways to modernize the infrastructure of the railways in order to improve the travel experience for people with disabilities.

Among other things, the plan calls for the construction of contemporary passenger facilities, such as a beautifully designed façade, resurfaced platforms, lovely landscaping, a roof plaza, kiosks, food courts, and a children’s play area. Road expansion, the removal of undesired constructions, the installation of well-designed signs, the creation of designated pedestrian walkways, the improvement of parking facilities, and better lighting are all steps taken to guarantee easy access.

The fact that the designs of the renovated station buildings are influenced by regional architecture, culture, and legacy is one of the noteworthy aspects of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

The Puri station was influenced by the architecture of the Jagannath Temple, while the Madurai and Rameswaram stations in Tamil Nadu were influenced by the Madurai Meenakshi and Ramanathaswamy temples, respectively.

The Amrit Bharat Stations initiative began in 2021 when Gandhinagar became the first railway station to be modernized, complete with a five-star hotel and all the amenities of today.

The Rani Kamalapati Railway Station, originally known as Habibganj, had a makeover later that year. The reconstruction of three important railway stations—the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai, which is already a UNESCO World Heritage site; the Ahmedabad Railway Station; and the New Delhi Railway Station—was authorized by the Union Cabinet in 2022.
