Rekha has captivated audiences for decades with her dazzling on-screen presence and timeless beauty. Even at the age of 70 she continues to leave fans in an awe. However her journey has been anything but ordinary filled with intrigue and various controversies. Among many shocking incidents surrounding her one particular moment was when the veteran actress was forcibly kissed by renowned Bollywood star Biswajeet Chatterjee leaving her completely disturbed and traumatised on the sets. This surprising incident of being kissed without her permission is mentioned in Rekhas biographical book Rekha: The Untold Story written by Yasser Usman. At 15 the vintage beauty stepped into industry marking her debut with Kuljeet Pals Anjaana Safar (1969). While shooting one of the scenes in the film actor Biswajeet pulled Rekha close to him and pressed his lips onto her forcibly. Well the scene did not end here. The director didnt say cut and allowed the kissing scene to go on straight for complete five minutes. Unaware 15-year-old Rekha was devasted and hell-shocked after the scene ended while other crew members cheered and clapped after watching the whole shot. Soon the film faced censorship issues for the controversial kissing scene between Rekha and Biswajeet. Although the film was shot in 1969 it got released theatrically ten years later in 1969 under the changed title Do Shikaari. The infamous kissing scene grabbed eyeballs at that time. In fact a well-known magazine published the whole incident with the headline- India’s Kissing Crisis.
