The most significant transition for KKR this year is the change of captaincy. With Shreyas Iyer relinquishing the position, veteran batter Ajinkya Rahane has been selected as the new captain of the team. Shah Rukh Khan gave his complete backing to Rahane, expressing gratitude to him for taking up the mantle and giving his blessing. “Thanks, Ajinkya, for coming here and becoming a captain. The actor, dressed chic in a white T-shirt and gray waistcoat, welcomed fans before leaving for Eden Gardens. The high-profile opening ceremony, scheduled to begin at 6 PM, will have SRK delivering a monologue, accompanied by performances of singer Shreya Ghoshal, rapper Karan Aujla, and actress Disha Patani.
