Hyderabad: Prabhas-starrer Salaar: Ceasefire, which originally hit screens in 2023, was re-released on Friday, March 21, and has opened to an impressive response at the box office.
Directed by Prashanth Neel, the mass action drama featuring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran saw houseful shows in many theatres across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Despite not coinciding with any special occasion or actor’s birthday—a common trend for re-releases—the film made a strong comeback.
On its first day, Salaar re-release collected Rs 3.24 crore. Industry analysts believe the numbers could have been even higher if the film had also been re-released in North India.
The film originally premiered in December 2023 and grossed over Rs 600 crore worldwide, including Rs 488 crore in India.
Produced by Hombale Films, Salaar stars Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Shriya Reddy, Easwari Rao, and Bobby Simha.
Meanwhile, Prabhas remains busy with multiple upcoming projects and is set to reprise his role in Salaar 2 after completing his current commitments.
