Salman Khan’s new movie Sikandar is releasing on March 30, but till date, its promotion has not even started yet. The reason behind the limited promotions is serious security issues to the actor.

Among the biggest events organized for promoting the film, a lavish trailer launch which is to draw up to 30,000 fans, has been put on hold. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala and director A.R. Murugadoss have decided against aggressive promotion for the sake of the safety of all concerned.

Salman Khan has received several death threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in the recent past, which made him seriously curtail his public outings. Consequently, he has kept his movements under check and will mostly market Sikandar through online media instead of going to grand scale public events.

In spite of the minimal promotional campaign, Sikandar is getting plenty of online promotion. The trailer, which has also reached its final cuts, will be released on March 23 or 24.

In Sikandar, Salman Khan acts the part of a man who survives the adversities of life and becomes a ray of hope for the downtrodden. His role begins as a free-spirited one but transforms dramatically after he is haunted by memories of his deceased wife. This emotional process is the substance of the movie, taking the lead with issues of perseverance and redemption.

While security risks have impacted the promotional strategy of the film, there is still high anticipation for Sikandar. People are waiting in anticipation for its release, and making the choice to concentrate on digital promotions means the film still gains a large viewership while considering safety first.
