Patna Chief Minister Nitish Kumar formally opened the five-day commemoration of Bihar Diwas 2025 on Saturday at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, with a great deal of excitement.

The event attracted a sizable audience from all around the nation on Day 1 with a mix of cultural performances, avant-garde exhibits, and awareness campaigns.

The Road Safety Awareness Exhibition, which was organized by the Bihar government’s Transport Department, was one of the first day’s main attractions.

With an emphasis on CNG and electric cars, the program sought to encourage safe driving habits and eco-friendly transportation.

A traffic park with interactive road safety displays, a puppet show delivering road safety messages, a live demonstration of electric vehicle charging stations, two vehicle inspection simulators for public engagement, a mobile number update facility for driving licenses, an eye check-up camp for drivers, and a bus pass facility for students with exclusive offers were all featured in the transport department’s special attraction, a transport pavilion.

Transport Minister Sheela Kumari Mandal commended the department’s efforts during the pavilion’s opening.

She conveyed her admiration for the innovative strategy used to increase road safety awareness during her inspection.

Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, the transport secretary, emphasized the Bihar government’s commitment to advancing environmentally friendly transportation.

“The stall offers registration services for installing charging stations in private spaces or residential buildings. Grants for this will also come from the state government, Agrawal said.

People who aid the wounded in traffic accidents will get particular recognition in an effort to promote social responsibility and compassion, which will motivate more people to help accident victims.

Additionally, a road safety painting and slogan-writing contest was held, with thrilling rewards like reflective bands, key rings, and helmets up for grabs.

The program encourages environmentally friendly mobility in addition to raising awareness of safe driving practices.

It displays the Bihar government’s attempts to reduce traffic accidents while promoting environmentally friendly transportation and civic engagement.

The Social Welfare Department has put up 13 distinctive booths at the Gandhi Maidan in Patna as part of the current Bihar Diwas 2025 festivities, exhibiting a range of welfare programs and neighborhood-based projects.

These booths provide useful information on the programs run by the Divyangjan Empowerment Directorates, Social Security, Social Welfare, and Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS). The stall’s emphasis on the wellbeing of senior persons is one of its main draws.

Step-by-step instructions for applying for the government pension plan are provided to visitors. More senior citizens are encouraged to take advantage of the advantages since the procedure is presented in an easy-to-understand way.

For the elderly, a special eye examination camp has been established. Free eye exams are available to senior folks, raising awareness of the value of eye health within this demographic.

Godhbharai Sanskar (Baby Shower for Pregnant Women) is an initiative that gives pregnant women important information on vaccination schedules, nutrition and medications, hygiene, and rest during pregnancy. The ICDS department organized two traditional community-based ceremonies to promote maternal and child health.

In order to guarantee a safe pregnancy, our program seeks to inform and empower pregnant moms.

As part of this cultural custom, six-month-old infants were first exposed to solid food during the Annaprashan Sanskar (First Solid Food Ceremony).

Promoting early nutrition is the main goal in order to guarantee that newborns grow and develop normally.

Additionally, a comprehensive model of Anganwadi centers was given by the Social Welfare Department, showing how pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, as well as children under six, get vital nutrition and health services.

The concept places a strong focus on how community support affects young children’s development. The significance of millets—known for their nutritional advantages—was highlighted in a particular section.

By highlighting them as a sustainable and healthful dietary choice, the exhibit sought to resurrect interest in traditional grains.

On Saturday, the Labor Resources Department opened its high-tech departmental stand, which included information on different government programs and state-of-the-art technology.

Through skill development, the booth seeks to draw attention to job prospects for women, young people, and workers.

On the occasion of Bihar Diwas, Deepak Anand, the secretary of the Labour Resources Department, opened the booth and greeted everyone.

“The interests of all state employees are served by the labor resources department. By providing skill training, we are equipping workers, women, and young people to meet market demands. Better job prospects will result for them, and the state will grow more quickly as a result,” Anand said.

A living model of the Centre of Excellence (CoE), created in partnership with Tata Technologies at the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), was on exhibit at the stand.

The CoE seeks to close the gap between the needs of the new industry and traditional talents.

Automation and industrial robotics were among the technologies showcased at the event, along with how connected devices can transform industries, promote sustainable transportation technologies, showcase cutting-edge manufacturing and prototyping methods, and provide immersive learning opportunities.

Visitors were enthralled with Tata Tech’s robotics show, which provided an insight into the future of work and industry.

Through the use of cutting-edge technology, the CoE aims to provide young people the advanced technical skills they need to meet industry standards, encourage self-employment and entrepreneurship, and improve job prospects in fields with high demand.

Special Secretary Alok Kumar, Planning and Training Director Sunil Kumar Yadav, Bihar Labour Commissioner Rajesh Bharti, Bihar Skill Development Mission Mission Director Suresh Kumar Singh, and Tata Tech Representative Manish Kumar were also in attendance.

The booth demonstrated how the Labour Resources Department is adapting Bihar’s workforce to meet the demands of contemporary industry.

The department wants to empower workers, women, and youth via skill development and cutting-edge technology, which will boost the state’s economy.
