Kolkata (West Bengal) [India]: Virat Kohli, a mainstay of Royal Challengers Bengaluru, added another feather to his crown during the 18th season of the lucrative Indian Premier game (IPL) 2025 tournament launch on Saturday, further solidifying his dominance in the game.

The unique performance by the “Chase Master” left the reigning champions Kolkata Knight Riders and the crowded spectators at the famous Eden Gardens in awe.

Virat took a single on the last delivery of the tenth over to reach 1000 runs against the Knights while easily defeating KKR’s 175-run goal.

Virat, who was just the third player to accomplish the milestone, now has more runs than any other player in the tournament’s history, with over 1000 against four different teams.

Virat has already amassed more than 1000 runs against the Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings, Chennai Super Kings, and KKR. For the record, Virat is closest to David Warner and Rohit Sharma.

Warner and Rohit have both amassed more over 1000 runs against two different teams. Against KKR and PBKS, the former Australian southpaw has scored more than 1000 runs. Rohit did it against DC and KKR at the same time.

Virat became only the third Indian to reach the 400-twenty-match milestone during the tournament opener against RCB and KKR. Virat is surpassed by Rohit (448) and Dinesh Karthik (412) on the list of Indian players with the most T20 appearances.

Virat and Phil Salt stepped out to open in his historic game, setting the stage for RCB’s victorious chase. Virat quietly took up the burden of accumulating runs on the board with his little attack, while Salt bore the brunt of it.

He used a variety of shots from his repertoire to compound KKR’s growing problems. To guarantee that RCB started the tournament with a commanding 7-wicket victory on the opposition’s territory, he remained until the very finish, undefeated at 59.
