Aadhaar Update: Some documents are very important as identity proof, which we need every day for some work or the other. Like our Aadhaar card, PAN card, voter card, driving license, and ration card. The citizens of India must get an Aadhaar card. Many times people make some mistakes while making an Aadhaar card, due to which sometimes their name on the Aadhaar card is wrong and sometimes their date of birth.
However, Aadhaar information can be updated. Today we will tell you which Aadhaar information can be updated online and which cannot.
You can make these changes in Aadhaar online from home.
Name: If there is a minor mistake in the spelling of your name on Aadhaar, then you can update it online.
Date of birth: If there is a minor mistake in your date of birth, then you can update it online, but remember that the date of birth can be updated only once.
Gender: You can also update your gender (Male/Female/Transgender) online.
Address: You can update your address online, for this you will have to attach a valid address proof.
Mobile number and email ID: Mobile number and email ID can also be updated online.
Update the Aadhaar card online like this
Step 1. First, go to the UIDAI website
Step 2. Now on entering your Aadhaar number and captcha code, an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile.
Step 3. Login by entering that OTP.
Step 4. Now select the option of Update Aadhaar Online.
Step 5. Select the information you want to update in your Aadhaar, such as name, and date of birth.
Step 6 - Fill in the new information.
Step 7. Upload the required documents for the update request.
Step 8. Finally, submit the update request.
After submitting the request, you will get the updated request number (URN) through SMS.
You will have to go to the Aadhaar center to update this information
Let us tell you that there are two types of information in the Aadhaar card - demographic information and biometric information. You can usually update demographic information online, but to update biometric information, you will have to go to the Aadhaar center. Biometric information includes your fingerprint, an iris scan of the eyes and photo of your face etc. To update this information, you will have to go to the Aadhaar center.
Apart from this, if you want to change the surname of your name or even the full name, then also you will have to get this change done by going to the Aadhaar center.
Check the status of Aadhaar update like this
First of all go to the UIDAI website. After this, select the option of Check Aadhaar Update Status. Now you can check the status by entering your Update Request Number (URN). For information, let us tell you that online update of Aadhaar takes 5-7 days and offline update takes 10-15 days.
